Office/Warehouse Interior 3,600 sq ft

Completed 1994

A key shop intended to enhance the experience of having a key duplicated or a
lock repaired

1998 American Institute of Architects Ohio, Design Merit Award

Jury Chairman: Chad Floyd, FAIA, Centerbrook Architects, Essex, Connecticut
Jury Comments: "To those of us who have had keys copied for years in crowded little booths at the mall or in the rear of hardware stores, it is amazing indeed to consider the verve of this interiors project, which elevates retail transactions around keys to a high order of excitement. The frank use of corrugated metal recalls the hardware store paradigm but with an entirely new twist."

1996 American Institute of Architects Cleveland Chapter, Grand Honor Award

Jury Chairman: Michael McKinnell, FAIA, RIBA, Kallmann McKinnell & Wood Architects, Boston, MA
Jury Comments: "An obvious labor of love which combines architectural wit with sophisticated elegance both in proportions and the use of materials. All of this is accomplished with absolutely minimum means."
