Van Dyke Pool House

Enclosed Pool House Addition
Cleveland Heights, Ohio
Completed 1992

The project consisted of an enclosed pool house addition to an existing 1920's home. The three major functions are defined on the exterior through three obvious massings. The lap pool becomes the long, thin, tall element. The rec pool is expressed as a low curving glass form. Vertical circulation becomes a free standing masonry cylinder connected to the house by glass. An area between the new addition and the existing house becomes a hard surfaced patio. A garden area is defined to the south bordered by the pool facade, the existing garden wall and house.
